I’m modeling some roll-up “garage” doors for my maintenance shops but I can’t seem to find a product which will fit meet my needs. I need enough material to fit my rough opening of at least 18 scale feet (HO). The largest door I have found in the Walthers catalog is only 15 scale feet. I’d like it to be one solid piece. Anyone know of a product or material which models the appearance of real roll-up doors?
You might find some of Evergreen’s sheet plastic will work. They make plastic sheets with assorted different scoring patterns…something with parallel lines spaced 12" to 18" (scale) would work. Look here: http://www.evergreenscalemodels.com/Sheets.htm
Ever think of using card-stock? it can be folded, scribed, cut to any size, paints well, and if done properly, it will look so good that your friends will call you a liar when you tell the it’s made of paper.
