Doubling MRC transformers?

I have an MRC trainpower 027 from about 20 years ago. Not a lot of hours on it. I wonder how much I could get one on ebay for? And then could I wire them together to one track for more power to the engines?

I saw an MRC trainpower 600 (a.c.) at the hobby shop wednesday and am wondering how different it is than mine?

I think it’s unlikely that they will work in any useful way if wired together; and you may damage them.

The Model Retifier Corp 027 Dual Power 270[135 watts per railpower throttle output]transformers that I had [and got rid of], were troublesome in operating my early MTH Proto engines. They were not pure sine wave units and had a maxium 18 volt ouput which was problematic with some of my postwar engines. If I am talking about the same tranformer as you they were controlled by a tethered hand-held throttle rather than levers/handles.

I agree with Bob that it is unlikely they would be effective if paralleled------inability to precisely equalize the voltage of the two units could cause damaging circulating currents between the two when under load.
