Doug Riddell Still writing???

It occurs to me that it has been quite a while since I saw anything by Doug. Is he still writing for TRAINS??

LC

I think the only reason why he got published in Trains was because of the take over of RailNEWS’ subscriptions by Kalmbach. RailNEWS, which used to be Passenger Train Journal and Pacific RailNEWS combined, had Mr. Ridell’s monthly column. When Pentrex, who had purchased PTJ, bungled the business and abruptly canceled publication, Trains picked up the subscriptions, and you could choose a Kalmbach publication to finish out your agreement, IIRC. Because they apparently had a few of Mr. Riddell’s columns already written, Trains published them.

But I do not thing that Trains ever hired Mr. Riddell to write for them.

It’s too bad Rail News went under. I really enjoyed Mr.Riddel’s writing.

He is good. Mr. Riddell, WHERE ARE YOU?

I liked Rail News, I was disapointed when that got canned.

I don’t know when these articles were written, but under the railroad industry / freight railroads section (at the left on the home page) there are several pieces he wrote.
