Downtown Deco

How is everyone doing?
Thanks for all the help with my last post on starting out. My layout is taking shape and I’m kind of stalling now because we’ve sold our house and I’m worried about damage during the move. So I’m concentrating on some smaller things like buildings and bridges, etc. Has anyone had any success with Downtown Deco? I am trying my best but due to the fact that I’m just starting out, I may have bitten off more then I can chew! After breaking it 3 or 4 times I finally go it to stay together long enough to paint it and put in the window frames and doors. Now I am hanging signs and after that I think I’m weathering. any tips on how to make them REMOTELY like the pictures on the box or website? I can’t seem to do anything that matches the look. HELP!

When I first started building downtown deco buildings,I also had a little trouble with them. But then I decided to read the directions and follow them. They also offer a lot of hints on ageing and finishing the buildings.Stick with it,take your time and you should get a nice model out of your efforts.

Read the instructions? Man, I hate doing that! Especially when I discover after reading them I could have saved a whole bunch of missteps and mistakes! As Tim Tyler so elegantly said “those aren’t instructions - merely suggestions.” My mantra - “if at first you don’t suceed, use a bigger hammer. If if still doesn’t work, read the instructions.”
