DPM, JDI, KPK, MWH, J?W, ?

Does Jim Wrinn have an initial ?

Have you been painting models in an unventalated room?

Or eating the red crayon again?

What are you asking? I don’t get the question.

Does anybody really care? Some people use their middle initial, some don’t. No skin off my back.

Yes, my friends, I do have a middle initial and it’s a G. The primary reason I don’t use it: Wrinn with an “i” is such an unusual name there’s little risk of running into another person with the same name. (Although there was a photographer Jim Wren in California in the early 1960s who also fancied Shays.)

Were there many Shays built on or after 1925? I was of the understanding that they had slowed production by this point.

Gabe

It’s just been a tradition to me, like dispatchers signing train orders with 3 initials.

Regardless of your initials, we’re glad to have you, Mr. Wrinn.
It’s like the presidency. We had FDR, then JFK (Turman and Eisenhower didn’t really use them) and LBJ. They’ve kind of been out of style since.

What State?

Gabe

Don’t forget GWB !

If only it were possible.

Now I understand. Unususal question to ask but never the less…

That’s some interesting spelling…[:I]

I suspect that Mr. Wrinn’s Forum name comes from the number of one of the Shays used into the 1960s (at least) by the Graham County Railroad in his home state.

Yes, my favorite locomotive would be the No. 1925, originally of the Graham County RR in Western N.C., and restored to operation at NC Transportation Museum in Spencer.

Boy, do I miss that little gal!

Gabe, you’re right, there weren’t many Shays built after this date. I checked the records and after the 1925, there were only about 80 more built over the next 20 years before the last one.

Best to all, Jim
