Are DPU’s manned or are they remote?

Remote.

DPU units are unmanned and are controled by the Engineer and computers in the lead locomotive.

If the DPUs were manned they would be called helpers.

Are all of the DPUs being built by GE or EMD equiped with Harris/GE electronics ?

Yes, Harris bought the Locotrol patents from Radiation, Inc. Then GE bought Harris.
