Dragon river steel corp's BOF update/photos

Hello all,

Haven’t been on the forum in a while do to going blind. So my wife has pitched in to help me build the layout before lights out. Without further ado…I present DRSC Basic Oxygen Furnace or BOF which ever you prefer.

Oh for those of you who don’t know me. I just happen to be a huge steel mill modeling railfan. This model of a HO scale BOF is scaled down somewhat. It’s is scratch built from corrugated plastic signs and covered in projection TV screen. The TV screen looks just like HO sheet metal.

The steel mill kress carriers are all scratch built using US patent office schematics. The other vehicles such as the crane & loaders are store bought. The BOF is lite up using LED lights { sorry no night shots }.

Hope you enjoy the photos…

Could you show an overall view of your mill? The details look good

[:-^]

Great work Patrick,

I love your attention to detail.

I can somewhat feel for you as my eyes have slipped alot, 35 years of night driving with the hound. Not to the point of loss yet just somewhat annoying.[banghead]

I was wondering, when you get that mill finished would you be inclined to rent your wife out ?? I have a number of projects here that I would like assistance with and my wife isn’t very interested. Lol.

Best wishes and I think we all hope that the degeneration stops and your sight stays with you.

Post more pictures, you should be remembered by all M. Railroaders as a top modeller and craftsman.[bow]

Johnboy out…

The “Wobbly” wobbles on.

Dang Patrick, that thing looks AWESOME! Always fun to see another South Carolinian on the forums too, lol.

I could show an over view but the rest of the mill is still being build. The walthers kits such as the blast furnace,EAF,coke ovens and other buildings haven’t been placed as of yet. As soon as possible though , I’ll post more photos.
