Those little thin double straws they make for stirring coffee work well for me. Just cut one tube off and you have an instant drain pipe.
Sometimes the plastic spews that parts come on are the right shape and size for pipes of all kinds.
It’s “sprues”, not “spews”.[:)]
Drinking straws are good for larger drain pipes or culverts.
You can also get thin styrene rods of whatever thickness you like.

For the pipes made from corrugated pipe, I use bendable straws with the ribbed part. Cut off the plain part and insert into the wall. Paint with mucky coloured paint.
