Just a quick message to clarify a portion of the Dream Plan Build video of my On3 D&RGW Silverton Branch layout. In the video, one of the mini clinics I do is on building tress from a product I called Sugar Bush, or at least that is what it was called when I purchased a lifetime supply of it five years ago. Turns out that none of the craft stores today stock sugar bush. What they do carry is Pepper Grass, which to me sure looks like the same thing. It is often available in different colors, but green is what we want for making model trees. So please don’t pull your hair out trying to find “sugar bush”, look for “pepper grass”.
I just got that DVD, I really enjoyed it. I’m planning to use a couple of your technics on my indoor large scale effort. Your Highline section is really great, wish I had room for somethiong like that, but we dont have basements for great big layouts in my neck of the woods. Thanks for the heads up on the Pepper Grass, probably wont be at that stage till later this summer.
Thanks for the Update on the Sugar Bush Trees. Probably make things less vexing knowing we have to look for Pepper Grass.
I do have one quick question though about your motive Power. As I am not as familir with D&RGW locomotive types. What class of 2-8-2s are you running on your layout?
