Dream Plan Build videos

I used to get the DPB DVD’s when they first started several years ago. I bought just about every one of them until about Number 13 and 14. I returned them and never received another DVD from them. Has anyone heard of such a thing? I thought that one was supposed to “try” them and pay for the ones you like and send back the ones that you did not like. Is there a limit to the number of DVD’s that DPB allows you to return? Please let me know about your experiences and any policies that they might have.

If you send back a video or 2 they will not send you any more because they think your not interested in them. they do not tell you that when you send them back. To get more you will have to call them and tell them you still want the dvds.

If you don’t buy one they assume you are no longer interested in them and they won’t send them out anymore.

What Kalmbach COULD do {if they are listening} is publish a list and mail it out to those who were getting them as they may be interested in particular ones in the series that they haven’t gotten to yet. Seems to me this would result in more sales. Not everybody wants every DVD they put out in the DPB series. I know I didn’t and they stop sending to me. I might have been interested in others down the line that I might have bought…

I could be wrong, I have been wrong before and will be wrong again.

Just my thoughts and opinions, others may vary.

I have been receiving the DPB series for 2+ years and, in the beginning, purchased almost all of the DVDs. Over the last 9-12 months, I have only purchased 1 in 4. Unlike the other responses, I still get the DVDs on a regular basis and was not shut off after one return.

The only factor that may contribute to my “longevity” is that I paid for a 3 year subscription to Model Railroader and maybe the publisher is willing to still send the DVDs as long as I’m still a subscriber of the magazine.

I started sending them back, and eventually, I stopped getting them. I’m pretty sure it was more than one or two, though.

Of course, there was one that they said they never got back. I kept returning the invoice and telling them I returned the DVD (which I had). Maybe they got ticked about that.

I have had a subscription to Model Railroader magazine for about 25-30 years and Trains magazine intermittently for 20 years. I have 2 years left on my current Model Railroader. I am not expecting to get any more DPB. I believe that Dream Plan Build should have a list of all of the tapes that they offer along with the titles of each part of the DVD. I might want some and not others. But, Allen Keller and the N&W Historical Society have no problem with supplying me with train DVDs.
