DRG&W

Headed for Denver in the near future. This is new territory for me and the question is…are the Big Ten Curves on the old DRG&W easily accessible?

I will have some time to explore the area just west of Denver and would like to see and photograph this engineering achievement.

nope, but go up coal creek canyon rd to blue mountain dr you can catch the trains going up and down moffat sub at the RR crossing.

Palmer Lake, north of Colorado Springs, is another good location for photographing trains. Palmer Lake iswhere thetwo tracks of the Joint Line converge into single track to pass through Colorado Springs.

Actually, if you don’t mind doing a little hiking, the curves are pretty accessible from the adjacent open space land. I can provide more info if interested.

I would be interested for future reference.
