The only reason I can think of to keep running once you are clear would be Driving Impaired, or being wanted by the police for something…note the article did say they have a pretty good idea who they were looking for…which implies he was driving his own car. Sounds like he may be what we used to “NARS” qualified…“Not a Rocket Scientist”
