I want to add a little more mainline to my layout but it involvesd encroaching on the wife’s parking place. I am thinking either a hinged drop leaf that will fold down so the car can be parked or a section that will bolt in place like a module that I can store away. which one would be better.
HO scale code 70 track
thanks
To my mind, neither is really better than the other. A lift out section might give you more finesse in aligning the tracks, which might be better in a garage environment. If it’s going to be used a LOT, I’d go with the fold-down, which is faster and easier to mofe and get back in operation. Either way works well.
Yeah I was really wanting to do the hinged leaf, my grandpa had a lionel layout done this way in his garage but lionel track is quite a bit sturdier than HO.
I figured if I used a piano hinge it would leave less error on alignment.
thanks for your reply
