For those of you who have been iin the coffee shop you know I have been working on some scenery. Well I Built a hill out of some duct tape. I used the card board strip method and then just covered it in duct tape. A little paint and some ground foam and it didn’t turn out too bad. I know i am probably not the first do do this but I thought it was neat and I wanted to post a pic.
Like I said on AIM, that turned out really good. And I bet that it was pretty cheap as well. All you need are some boxes, scissors, maybe some glue, and tape, and you are good to go. I’ll definately have to try it when I finally get around to building my layout.[:D]
GREAT JOB![tup][tup]
Im surprised anything sticks to the duct tape, will have to try it
The only problem with using any product that has its own adhesive is after time the glue dries out and all your hard work will start to delaminate. You could use it as a base then plaster, sculpamold or whatever, you would be safer in the long run. Look what happens to old duct tape that is actually used on ducts. If you are building a layout that will last only a matter of a few years it should be ok though.

Nice work cheese3!!! About the only thing I have found that duct tape isn’t good for is sandwiches! [:p]

Looks great!
There are two things no handyman should ever be without. Duct tape, and WD-40.
If it sticks, and it isn’t supposed to, use WD-40. If it don’t stick, and it’s supposed to, use duct tape! [:D]

People have been using the card mesh and packing tape method for years. I’ve never seen it done with duct tape, though. Makes sence. Duct tape is really tough. I disagree with whomever said it will lose it’s adhesive ability. It probably will if not in an environmentally controlled atmosphere, but as long as it’s inside, it will last indefinately. That’s a good idea.
