Duluth & Northeastern 2-8-0 to move next month
its great to see an other steam engine rebuilt and not left to rust and rot away.
If the locomotive’s driver’s bearings each can carry 1/8 of the weight borne by the two wheels of the leading truck, pull the truck, send it out for repair, and send the erstwhile Consolidation on its way masquerading as an 0-8-0.
Maybe even make some money by allowing the making of a TV commercial of the unusual truck load for some gutsy, glory-seeking PU- trucks…during the delivery from Cragan’s shop to the Duluth shop.
Imagine the ad-creators brainstorming; a truck on a truck being trucked…:
So, the 2719’s just gonna sit inside the museum for the rest of her days? Darn.
