I just bought an n-scale Con-Cor dummy engine with DCC sound from e-bay. The seller knows nothing about model trains. I am planning on using it with a Kato engine which is DCC without sound. How do I get sound out of the dummy?
I ASSume this dummy unit already has the speaker installed. You should be able to hear and test the sounds with the appropriate CVs once you have assigned the unit an appropriate number different from 03 default.
I think you will be using the ‘consist’ feature to slave the dummy functions to whatever the lead engine’s assigned number is.
