QUOTE: … “I’m in HO scale, and have several FB unit dummies, mostly Genesis” … - Pondini Interesting. According to Athearn, “Genesis have always been powered”. IE:No dummies. - and Dummy shells are not sold by Athearn - only available from Highliner, unpainted. Where does one purchase Genesis Dummy units? I’ve even considered buying an AB unit just to get a single B and remove the motor and works to put a sound unit in. That’s $300. -$400 with QSI DC /DCC sound. IM has decorated KITS and had at one time “Smart Dummies”.
Well, Don, I don’t know where you got your information, but I bought them a couple of years ago. I think it was a limited run, Santa Fe Passenger Warbonnet, F7B dummies. I also bought a matching F7A dummy and swapped shells with a powered F7B I already had. The boxes carry item numbers 99042A and 99042B, and were numbered 47C and 47B respectively. The boxes are the usual Genesis boxes, just like the powered units came in then.
I’ve also got a similar F3B dummy, but don’t see it’s box, so I think I got it off eBay two or three years ago.
At one time, Athearn also sold painted Genesis shells, too, but I don’t remember which models were included.
I had a tendency to keep my guardian angels fully occupied. Luckily for me, the Lord still has things he wants me to do on this Earth. So my walk away from downs have always equaled my ups. After all, any landing you can walk away from is a good one.
But we did so enjoy playing “peek-a-boo, I see you” with my submariner buddies when the opportunity presented itself. Of course, they didn’t see the humor in it the same way we fly-boys did.
Seriously, thank you for your service. I’ve known some very fine people in the undersea service.

I got my information direct from Athearn. You are correct. It was a limited run - from WALTHERS’ (their Super Chief series). Check your box. ALL ‘Genesis’ engines are powered.
