I built this car 10 years ago and decided to do as the title says. This series of cars was built in 1969 and ran into 2008 when they were scraped. They hauled 43,800 gals of Ethylene Glycol and weighed in loaded at 526,000 lbs. All 70 cars had the large Dupont football logo when new. This was removed when they were repainted. So, I added them to my car. Next came Archer weld lines, ACI tags, older cots lables and several older decals. I followed this with weathering.

Thanks, Bobby

Bobby they are great something like that will look good on my layout.

Thank you Russell, I appreciate it. Regards, Bobby

Superior modeling. I am becoming something of a tank car nut.

And I did not know Archer made weld line decals together with their rivet decals, but it makes sense.

Dave Nelson

Nice work! Very cool car.

Dave, Ray, I thank you both for your kind words. Regards, Bobby

The first time I saw one of these was while I was at work, around 2008. Two days later, I saw another one passing by; ain’t seen one since. They must’ve been on their way to the scrapyard.

What is the length of these tank cars? I cannot find any information on them other than their capacity.

Dave, you’re correct, 2008 was the year most were scrapped. Caldreamer, they were 91’ over the strikers. Thanks, Bobby
