Hi. I’m contemplating the purchase of your back-issue DVDs - both the one with all the back issues, and the one with all the special issues. But what about next year, or the year after? Are there any plans to release regular updates to these DVDs? By this I mean something like the old “yearbooks” that you used to buy to keep your encyclopedia up to date. We didn’t have to by a full 25 volume encyclopedia every year to keep up to date, but could buy a single, add-on volume each year. Is something similar planned for the two DVDs? I’m sure many readers would buy the updates to keep their “digital” collection up to date.
Can’t speak for Kalmbach, but there is already a way to acquire those issues – take out a subscription to the e-edition of MR.
I could see them repackaging that at some future date as a yearly volume, but I’d guess it’ll be a long time before they release a package as enormous at the digitized historical MR collection. It’s my experience that these sorts of projects – the digital collection of MR, for instance – are intended as one-time efforts to bring old paper-only collections into the electronic age.
rventura,
You may want to contact Kalmbach Customer Service with your ideas, suggestions, and questions either by calling them or using their convenient online contact form. That way they can respond back to you directly. This is just a MRRing forum.
