I would like to know if anyone sells pantographs or replacement pantographs to get rid of the plastic ones on my Bachmann E-60CP. they just don’t hold anymore, and the one has been broken alot, so yeah i’m having a tough time with it. would it also be possible to make my own pantogrpahs out of thich steal wire? i’m open to any ideas
Green,
For ideas, refer to the link to the 14 articles listed in an Index of Magazines search: http://index.mrmag.com/tm.exe?opt=S&cmdtext=pantograph&MAG=ANY
Some of these articles go back to the early days of model railroading. If you decide to follow up, the NMRA’s Kalmbach Memorial Library: http://www.nmra.org/library/
is probably your best bet for photocopies of articles other than those in MR.

Please let us know what you come up with. I have a pair of the E60CF’s, one with the pans gone, the other in bad shape. At some point they will need replaced/rebuilt, so I would like to be ready!
Bachman used to have Faively pantographs in metal. They were from the Metroliners they offered years ago. I bought a dozen then but can’t tell you if they still offer them or not.
You might want to try www.eurorailhobbies.com. They have literally dozens of different pantographs of Eurpoean manufacture on their site. One may be close to what you are looking for. They seem to be relatively inexpensive also.
Try looking on the Roco and Fleischmann websites and look at the spares pages. I know they are European but you should get a close match at a reasonable cost
