I’ll take the NYC passenger cars on the top shelf!!! [(-D]
Actually, I think I have them. But it IS an awesome collection!!! [tup]

Maybe Marty and myself could go in on it. I could contribute a few dollars.[:D] I am still trying to figure out who this seller’s father is. I am wondering if it the guy that owns Log Cabin Train Shop, or if it is Allan from the Iron Horse.
2 bids so far!
I’ll bet one of them is Frank53! He’s loaded! [;)]

Jim,
Is Bill from Log Cabin Trains retiring? If so that is a loss to the hobby in Pittsburgh, he used to do all the work on my trains before I moved to Baltimore!
I was thinking it may be the owner/son of A.B. Charles since the closed shop a year or so ago… another HUGE loss to the hobby in the area.
Brent
I don’t suspect it’s Aln from Iron Horse as he still is quite active and does go to train shows to sell as well as seeing him at the shop. I don’t think it would be Mr. Charles either. He passed last year. The new shop still has a train section. Seems like it would be better if it were him to sell them there.
Marty,
Where is the new A.B. Charles shop?
Brent
Certainly a fine looking collection. But even if I had the money, I would have to have a complete inventory list (which the seller says he does not have) and a current appraisal before bidding. At least he is open to people coming by to look at it in person before bidding. I wish him well.
They are located on Rt19 just past the Banksville Plaza. If you are coming from dauntaun you would go through the Parkway West Tunnels and take the Banksville Rd Exit. Follow it about 2 miles and look for the big red barn on the right.
Marty,
I heard that Allan retired. The guy that owns Log Cabin Train Shop is Bill Trushel. It is on Rochester Road. Can’t see it from the road, you have to go up a long, steep driveway. He mainly sell postwar parts. Send me an email if you’d like to know more…
Yikes, this might be pocket change to some people, but I didn’t realize that some pockets were that big…Sure makes a bystander out of me…Am I understanding correctly that the owner’s wishes were to sell the entire collection as one unit…I could see selling complete sets, but this is a mindblower!!!
