Excerpt from Fortune magazine: Harrison’s father, Ewing Hunter Harrison Jr., [1920-1976] nicknamed “Tank,” was a Memphis police officer who retired to become a traveling preacher. He had pitched in the minor leagues as a teenager before being shot in his throwing arm in World War II. Like his dad, Ewing Hunter III was an outstanding athlete.
