Hello all,
Has anyone built an equilibrium crane before ? Future plans to build one of these beast in HO scale ,for the steel mill wharf. Union railroad in PA ,has one in use at its wharf unloading barges. I think it would make a fine looking crane for just about any industry. Does anyone know ,where to get drawings of this crane? I’ve e-mailed e-crane looking for drawings, only to get the cold shoulder.

Hmm, hadn’t heard of the term ‘equilibrium cranes’ till you mentioned it.
Googling brings up ‘e-cranes’, who I guess you already contacted without much success, and American & Ohio Cranes, who I guess is a distributor for e-cranes http://www.ersindustries.com/ecrane-range.htm. (Unfortunately I could not find a on-line brochure for equilibrium cranes on the brochure menu on that site…
You may have already seen this site, in which case I can’t add more information right now, but you are right in that they look interesting…
Aren’t they the cranes that look like big letter “T”'s? That would be awesome on a layout! Hope you can find what you need to build one.
Darrell, constructively quiet…for now
