On second thought, one message in the last 4 months looks pretty useless.
This particular group may not be very active, but there are quite a few groups available. Some are very active. I know there is one for the northern Illinois area. I don’t know the exact name, but many times there are forwards from it on groups that I am a member of.
There are also groups for specific railroads, big and small. Some are more active than others and some are better moderated than others, too.
