I’ve been trying to hunt down the types of early rolling stock used by the Trona Railway. There is plenty of information on the later years (especially when the baldwins were used) but almost none on the early years.
I’ve found one photo of a covered hopper for the Solvay Process company from the early teens, but would the Trona have used these?
I just looked in my book Railroads of Nevada and Eastern California. Not much on the rolling stock. I would assume the hoppers would say American Potash and Chemical Corporation. A railcar, combine and caboose are shown. The construction equipment appears to have been furnished by the SP. They had two Consolidations and One Mike. All with Vanderbuilt tenders. There is a picture of a passenger train but I don’t know the ownership. That is all I can help.
