Earthquake 5.4 epicenter in Chino Hills

Yikes, we got a real good shake this morning, 5.4 I’m in a tall building and its disconcerting to see other tall buildings outside doing the Hula

Tom did you feel it down in SD ?

I work in West LA and we got a good jolt. Hope everyone is okay.

Hey Super, you live in Cerritos? I grew up there when it was full of cows not shopping centers…[(-D]

Got a very strong rolling here, but I’m 9 floors up

Eek, glad both of you are safe. Was there much damage from it?

not much damage.

I’ve been in Cerritos for a little over 30 years, so I don’t remember the cows too much. They were gone when I was growing up, but the land where they were at was still empty. Now it is all houses and shopping centers.

Super you have mail

Rene, no damage, but ALOT of shaken nerves.

Glade to know our RR friends are ok over there!!! Vic, 8th floor ain’t good!

Ya’ll be safe.

Earthquakes, wild fires, mudslides, clogged interstates, smog, drunk driving celebrities with paparazzi in tow… ah, the paradise that is La La Land!

Add to that, no tornadoes, no hurricanes, no nor’easters, no ice storms, no blizzards, no snowshovels…[8D]

You forgot to add the average temp of 76 degrees over the year. You’re right terrible place to live. [:(]

I’ve got to say I’ve been through California and have seen some of the most beautiful sights ever. I remember driving along the coast from San Diego all the way up to Canada. When we came back we headed east and saw the best views looking down from mountains into the valleys. I would like to take the Mountaineer someday.

If I could of afforded it I would of stayed. I never went thru the quakes though, everywhere has it’s problems, Joe

Yep! I was opening the garage door when it hit. Knocked the door out of its track. Couple of stones fell off the waterfall. We only got the split second impact down here. No rock’n 'n roll’n.

Add: No broken dikes. Long johns not required. Heavy coats not required. Tire chains not required. Storm windows not required. Rivers do not overflow their banks (most are empty). Rock salt is used ONLY to make ice cream and soften water. Wild fires are no big deal IF you do your duty to maintain your landscape and tree trimming. (I’ve had three near my property line but I give the Heroes of the fire dept plenty of room to work. This also works to prevent mudslides.

Just got back to my side of the pond from your location, glad evey one ok. NO fun being up in a building when its on the move. Is the garden railway still running or are you having to do maintenance?[:)]

The worst thing about CA isn’t the fires, droughts, earthquakes, mudslides or other natural disasters – it’s the politicians. California politicians make the Black Plague look like a Sunday School picnic.

Maybe not in Sandy Eggo but I have been in the LA area in January when its been in the 30’s with a stiff wind. No coat required only if you don’t go outside.

Snow ski in the morning,

water ski in the afternoon,

grilling on the patio in the evening. [^]

What’s an ice-scraper ? [:-^]

Didn’t feel the quake at the museum that day, but SWMBO said it did rattle the house a bit here in Escondido.
