EASTER WeekEnd Photo Fun

Hi Guys Happy Easter! Heres a couple of shots from me ,Still working on trees i have alot to cover

Ill post more later have a Great! Weekend Guys!

Carl…

Nice work Carl. I wish I could have seen your work when I was in Mesa. We could have compared tree growing. No pics from me this week, I have been refining my new DCC and playing with trains. It works so well, I was motivated to fix some yard track that I never used because DC didn’t solve the control problems. I now have both my circle to go around, a simulated point to point and my switchback up Sublime Mountain. And I can really run trains. Next time I have my triple header going I will try to remember to get the camera out.

Lots of color in those trees, Carl. Makes for an interesting look.

I was beginning to wonder when you guys were gonna share.I finally put down tracks for the main and arrival/departure tracks for the yard. Light cars run through great, although I do need to wire it up[sigh]

I planted my first tree on the layout tonight

Happy Easter

Jon

Now theres some motivation. Layouts with trees? Now if I can get up enough nerve to put some scenery on mine[:p]

Jon That really looks great! Is that a spruce? Nice Job.

Carl…

Spigde
great start looking good, keep us informed please?
JIM

Nice tree tree Jon and nice scene around it. It looks like an Elm or maybe Maple to me. Could even be a Hickory those we don’t have many of those left in the U.S.

As long as it looks right for 1950s Chicago, Im happy.

Jon

Here’s 1 more from me Just fooling around im not sure if it looks right but heres the start on the part im working on

Carl…

Nice trees everybody!

Spring is here and the flowers are blooming. As befitting the season, this week I snapped these pictures of a Missouri & Northern Arkansas train passing through a spring time setting. The train is coming in to Cotter, Arkansas from the west. It has just exited the nearby tunnel and crossed the White River bridge as it enters town. Of the three engines, not a single one had the normal M&NA colors and two were obvious lease units.

On the modeling side, I’ve test fit the tracks and terrain at Gaskins Switch, the interchange point of my Cedar Branch & Western RR with the Missouri Pacific.

Took my first cabride on saturday! For $25 you too can ride in the cab on the Coopersville & Marne RR.

CM SW9 #7014, the engine I rode on.

In the cab.

Looking out the fireman’s side door at Marne.

Cab forward back to Coopersville.

Put in some more “scenery” this weekend. In the photo are coreopsis, scabiosa, sage, yarrow, monarda, echinacea, buddleia, and liatris, with creeping ground cover of flox, clover and shamrock. This coming week I’ll add spurge, alyssum, aster and stonecrop.

A rare three day wknd for me got much done on the round house, tell me what you think.

Close up of front end detail. ( I think I’m getting the hang of this )

Dan.That looks great i cant wait till its done nice job![swg]
