Jim Sanchez I have been reading your posts on this subject. I live in the Forks Twp. area and very close to the rail-trail that used to be the LNE line to Martins Creek. I have agreed to put an article together to be included in the new local publication called “Forks Township Life” about the former LNE lilne thru Forks. I have been collecting a lot of historical data but am trying to get first hand recollection of the line and pictures of its existence. Particularly, older pictures of the line through Forks from Uhlers up to Sandt Eddy. Do you have any knowledge of people connected to this area with that kind of information? Thanks, Chuck
There are numerous books on the L&NE…check your local libraries. Also look under Anthracite railroads, CNJ and LV, and DL&W railroad histories. Check the Anthracite Railroads Historical Society in Reading, check at Steamtown, check back issues of Trains, Railfan, Railpace, as well as the model magazines. NJ’s Whippany RR museum, too. There are lots of picture books as well as histories that cover the subject. Oh, yeah, check local hobby shops for the books, too, and see if there are any railfan groups locally…LV Chapt., NRHS in Allentown, Tri State Chapt NRHS in Dover, NJ, L&WV in Scranton for starters. Phillipsburg, NJ RR museum,…
