Easy JD Tractors in N Scale

Maybe this is old news, but in-case anyone’s interested:

I had to stop-off at my local John Deere shop yesterday, and while I was paying for the new inner tube they put in my Sabre tractor tire, I noticed they had some new keychains for sale.

The keychains are really nicely detailed JD farm tractors. I looked at one and it appeared to be N scale! I bought a couple ($2.99/each), took 'em home, removed the chains and test fit them on my layout. Perfect! I don’t know the specific JD model (I think it’s just a generic design for the keychain fob - not an actual JD model), but it serves as a really nice representation of one of the bigger modern tractors. They also have larger versions that look to be HO scale.

For $2.99 it was a great addition to my farm scenes.

Great price - I guess you’ve seen the new releases from Athearn.[:)]

I have one I got at a Rural King Store a couple of years ago for 1.98…Wish I had got a couple more…Cox 47

I assume you are talking about these little fellows. I get them at work, not exactly free but close to. I will probably not be getting many more, as I am running out of parking lot. And they are just a little too wide and too heavy to serve as flatcar loads.
