Easy Model Railroad Inventory software problem

A few weeks ago I decided to try this inventory software. After figuring out how to operate the program, I spent about 3 or 4 days taking photos and typing in about 500 cars and engines. On day five my windows 7 laptop bit the dust! The trouble was a failed mother board and not worth repair. I made the fatal mistake of not performing a backup!

Now I have procured a new Win 7 laptop very similar to the failed unit. I was able to read and copy files from the old hard drive onto the new computer. However, the files seem to be in different directories and the program had to be re-installed.

I think I have everything and all the files, but so far have no luck in getting the program to access those files. I tried to email the designer of the software but it is a dead link. Anyone have any ideas on this issue? Thanks for any clues! -Bill

Bill:

After all that work I really hope you can solve the problem. Have you considered taking both laptops to a local computer specialist? My wife has a co-worker who does programming on the side. He has worked wonders for us on a couple of occasions.

since you have a copy of the inventory files, why not try re-entering some data with the new installation and confirming where the inventory files reside, if you haven’t done so already, and then replace them with the ones from the old PC.

There is an easy Model RR Inventory Facebook page, maybe you can get soem answers there
