Every time I read a story like this, I shake my head in disbelief. WHEN are people going to learn?? WHEN, WHEN, WHEN??? Not Likely Ever!! And it is utterly sad. [:(]

Unfortunately, the very people who need to learn this lesson in order to save their lives will never pay attention to the specifics of such an “accident” as reported in the media. As the saying goes, “Common sense …isn’t!”

And relatives and train crews continue to suffer.

[]

Plus, “it” always happens to the ‘other guy’.

I can just visualize this (ex)person and persons just like her, driving down the road, putting on makeup, reading, eating, talking on the phone…all at 70mph.

Didja ever hear of anyone crashing while pacing a train with video camera?

Not yet, but I saw several come very close while pacing N&W611. 'bout ruined my shot, too.[censored]

Can’t say that I have. Are railfans really that hairbrained?

So far I have not!

Actually, it’s ‘hare-brained’, or having the intelligence of a rabbit.[:D]

I don’t know if they were taping the train, but back when the UP 844 first went over the ex-CNW I saw a car full of fans pacing the train triy to turn off old US 30 into a farm field. They were going to fast and ended up in the ditch. No one was hurt.
