i saw a lot of 20pcs o guage track nothing but rust showing from end to end on every peice and they want $39.99 for it
i gotta ask what crap are people doing now a days to actually think theyll get 40 outta rust i cant see one peice of silver not even on the footpads the footpads are rust here ill show u guys a pic
only look at the pic if you want your eyes to melt and mind to explode
The meaning of âpatinaâ is an old-fashioned color or old taste. Not the rust of copper alloy. I looked at it closely and I think it is realistic and usable as long as the insulation of the center rail is secured. Of course, use at your own risk.
i just dont get it when you can get clean rails at the same price especially when the owners list their lot as rusty/flaking if im not seeing petina or silver i really dont want my trains running it when i do outside work i use Tiger Tail firecrackers to blast my yard with if i lay rail i dont want a spark flying near those tiger tails talk about a bad day
just like when i drive loads on my ho for horker air base i dont want to see 1 spark fly off that train cause anything from horker is usually followed by the xantherian hazmat warning symbol then you really pour through the log book to find out what it is
A lot of people simply donât know what train stuff is and isnât worth money. Sometimes that works to your advantage, someone sells something way cheaper than itâs value and you get a deal. Sometimes it goes the other way like this, and someone wants good money for track that you couldnât even give away for free at a train show.
Ultimately, all you can hope for is that no ignorant buyer sees stuff like this and thinks itâs a good investment to make. Best case, these sellers are stuck with their overpriced junk and hopefully they eventually realize they need to drop the price to get it to sell.
I have been known to buy small lots of less-than-stellar SG track for use on my shelves, but it must be very cheap. I will clean decent track, but rusty stuff makes for good shelf fodder.
I hope that most folks interested in the hobby would take a little time to research the basics of track, transformers, motive power, and rolling stock before buying things that look kinda âiffyâ
eBay allows for multiple photos and written descriptions, so when I see items with minimal quantity of photos, or poor, blurry ones, or minimal or even no description (happens more than you might think) then I get kind of suspicious there wonât be the best outcome.
And if a seller is rude⌠I recently was looking for a motor unit for my Dinkyville trolley. I had never in my life seen a Flyer handcar or motor. I asked a seller what size his handcar motor was, and he replied âsame as all AF handcar motorsâ. Thanks a lot Buddy! I didnât buy from him
The straights would only be worth 25 cents each and then just for putting on shelves after painting them with Rust-Oleum. The curves belong in the recycle bin.
bluh in that case instead of paying the recycle man to haul them off save em up and take em to a scrap metals yard i figure when i do outside if i have track that goes bad on me ill pile it up near the good tracks til i have enough to haul in
