I’m not sure if this the proper catagory to make this announcement as there is not catagory for shows and events announcements.
The East Coast Large Scale Train Show or ECLS for short is a show dedicated to G Scale only trains. There is many club exhibits, manfacturers and hobby shops who all attend and are G Scale. The show is March 22 and 23 2103 in York PA.

So judging by the name if i want to see a large scale train show on the east coast i have to travel to this one?..wow i guess ill just keep reading about stuff.
For G scale, this is the place to be, biggest G only in the country.
1 building for vendors, another for layouts.
unlike the so called Expo I went to on 01/13, even my wife was disappointed all she saw was dusty layout’s and grumpy old men. was it worth the time and $14 admission price NOT AT ALL. The ECLS show is the place to go. I wish we had one on the west coast.

oh dont get me wrong im sure its a good time its about 700mi for me and i dont think the old truck driving back would take that in my pickup…not to mention the fuel
I didn’t take you wrong, I just made a few of the many comments I could have made about a well advertised so called show we went to.

The ECLS Show is definately one of the very last shows that focus on G Scale only. Even the Big Show on the west coast has become a Multi-Scale show and was originally G Scale only when it was aboard the Queen Mary. I personally don’t like G Scale only shows going to a Multi-Scale train show and hopefully this never happens to the ECLS.
Keep an eye on my You Tube channel and I will cover those who can’t go because it is too far. I will be taking plenty of video and hopefully will be able to finally buy a HD camcorder. I also have a ton of photos from the ECLS Shows I went to in the past.

I think I’ll stick to the long version not the short…
If this is your first time coming to the ECLS Show you will not be disappointed. I do recommend however the ECLS Show in March. The show promoters tried a “Fall Version” but it never really took off. Manufacturers, Hobby Shops and even Clubs really can’t afford the cost to go twice a year.

Every year the ECLS Train Show has a model contest. For those interested in entering the model contest here is the details.
Best of Show will be a $400 certificate for purchase of AristoCraft/Crest items at the current discount pricing. Not MSRP as in the past.
For each category,
First Place - $250 certificate
Second Place - $ 100 certificate
Third Place $50 certificate
2013 ECLSTS Model Contest
Categories:
Steam Locomotives - All types of locomotives powered by steam. The model must include an electric motor or other means of propulsion and be capable of operation on 45mm rails to be eligible for the category.
Diesel Locomotives - All types of locomotives powered by diesel (as commonly defined in the prototype). The model must include an electric motor or other means of propulsion and be capable of operation on 45mm rails to be eligible.
Self Propelled Units –Self-propelled MOW, Cranes, Track Cars, Snow Plows, Self-Propelled Passenger equipment, and Traction of all types. The model must include an electric motor or other means of self-propulsion and be capable of operation on 45mm rails to be eligible.
Rolling Stock – All rolling stock, non-self propelled. All types of Freight (including MOW, caboose and modern intermodal), passenger, MOW and “whimsical”. The model must include couplers and wheels and be capable of operation on 45mm rails to be eligible.
Buildings/Structures – All buildings and trackside structures
Dioramas – All dioramas
Wisconson-Illinois Trains will be sponsoring all of the Third Place prizes, in each of our previously announced categories. Matt has said that winners in his sponsored categories can redeem their Wisconson-Illinois Trains $50 certificates in his booth at the show

The ECLS Train Show in York was great. I took plenty of photos and videos. Right now I just uploaded 190 photos and will upload more on Sunday March 24.

ECLSTS is the numero uno show for LS imho !
I’ve travelled 3700kms a couple times to take this show in and hope to do it again when funding permits !!
Also been to BTS’02 and the inaugural MSLSTS’04 which was also underwritten by AristoCraft (aka jj productions/ECLSTS)
