Cool new format, Carl! I like how you use the picture of Neal Schorr’s layout as the backdrop. I can’t wait to see what Bob thinks of much-anticipated ZW-L transformer!

classic toy trains always has very interesting artcles and how to take care of you trains

I like the fact that you did a revew on the Penn. turbin steem engine . I think its one ove the best engins Lionel ever came out with .I have a 1950"s 681 and I love it has plenty ove power and looks great !!

I’ve already got my May issue and love CTT. Only because I love you guys do I express a disappointment – I wanted more coverage, more pages, on building a Lionel display layout. That came up a little short, and now you’ve put added scenery on this display layout? OMG! It appears to be “out with the display layout concept” as brief as that was. Gosh, I really wish we could have remained true to making a replica of a postwar Lionel display layout and just leaving it that way. (I still love you guys…)

I think the point to the “Easy Scenery How-To” was not to step away from the display layout concept, but more as an enhancement for those that want to take it a step further. As a display layout it was fine without some of the added scenery, but for newcomers to develop some basic skills on a starter type layout, it is an excellent and easy introduction to scenery making. The intro to the article pretty much sums that up. Lets keep positive and see how CTT is trying to get people started with a basic concept, and then show them how to take it a step further. In this day of instant gratification, quick successful steps towards making improvements may make the next new person eventually take on a larger layout such as Neal A Schorr’s, or the track plan with the modules. Thank you CTT for everything you do in order to promote model railroading.

Thisa issue is one of the best!
