electrical pickup wipers

Can anyone tell me where I can locate brass electrical pickup wipers that are on the trucks of some equipment? These wipers can get bent, oily, broken and their wire connections can come apart. I’ve searched all over and no luck so far in locating any house that carries these things. Thanks.

I’m not sure Tomar makes the kind you are looking for. You may have to make your own. They are usually made from phos. bronze, About .005 thick. cut them out& bend to shape. clean the surface & they solder very easily.

Try this idea:

You can make new ones from brass or phoshor-bronze, OR (my favorite way) is to get them out of a discarded or junked old AHM unit. Good excuse to rummage through a junk box at a swap meet!!!

if you have sheet brass (or copper for that matter) i would imagine that you could make your own fairly easily…

I fabricated a ‘temporary’ wiper from ordinary round copper wire when the original proved inadequate on my 0-8-0T. (The original only picked up from the two center axles, no good for insulated frogs in use on the club I belonged to.) That temporary installation has now been operating for 25 years, and looks good for at least 25 more.
