Electronics Solutions Ulm’s ECoS digital control system
The product is potentially interesting but I’d want to know more hard specifics and assumptions about what it is like to use. With standard – let’s call them “American style” – controllers, I can figure out how an unfamiliar one works because they all follow the same general ideas and lines. But for me and I suspect others, this is something new. Maybe a followup or expanded article about this kind of controller is in order, perhaps on the order of “with a standard controller you’d do this, with the ECoS you’d do that.” Dave Nelson
The ECoS from ESU is full DCC, Motorola and Selectrix compatible, which are the standards. The best would be to download and study the free manual from their web site: http://www.loksound.de/download/anleitungen/ECoS/50000_ECoS_ESUKG_US_Betriebsanleitung_Auflage_I_eBook.pdf The manual is in English language. You will not miss anything, probably be surprised what this state of the art unit can do!
