Elevated Line

Maybe you can assist us. We are thinking of building an elevated O27 line and need some suggestions for the supports. (We would like to avoid having to purchase numerous traditional elevated trestle sets)…So, if you have any pictures or “links” that we could look at that would give us some ideas, we would appreciate it. As always, many thanks.

I have an elevated 027 line on my layout and I made my own trestles. Each trestle is made up of 4 separate pieces of wood that I cut on a bandsaw. I downloaded brick graphics from the internet, printed them on cardstock and glued the cardstock to the pillars.

David: A real “work of art”. Beautiful. Thanks so much for the post.

I may be able to expedite this as I have a lot of MTH elevated trestles just sitting around that I would be glad to provide at no cost if you are interested. All I ask is to be reimbursed for the shipping. Contact me off line. These are from my last hi-rail layout and I would prefer they be put to use rather than having them take up storage space…

Wallyworld: Thanks for your offer. While we are still looking for pictures, our construction plans are temporarily on hold. It’s a question of location. Negotiations continue for “space”. Thanks, again.

Dave,

Your brickwork looks as if you hand laid them and their color brighten and enhance the beauty of the area.

Great work.

Ralph

David,

I concur with the others, your trestles look great. What did you use for the bridgework on top of the trestles? Did you construct it yourself?

Thanks,

Joe
