Fellas.
I was over helping a buddy with a switch on his layout last Saturday. He was using an dab of Elmers Glue stick on the tip of his screwdriver to hold the screw on the tip. Good Idea to pass along to the masses.
Well I was wondering if an Elmers glue stick would be possiable to use to hold your figures down to your layout? A figure would probably be even lighter than a screw. I know Woodland Scenics has a glue that holds figures down, but could you use and elmers Glue stick instead and save a couple of bucks to use in other things? thanks Kevin
You could but the glue stick adhesive loses it’s adhesion over time and the figures will be loose again. Also it doesn’t like humidity.
I wouldn’t trust Elmers Glue stick for anything other than paper or light card stock. Actually prefer the 3com Scotch glue or Avery to Elmer’s.
Other than CA adhesive (fast setting kind), you might consider full strength Mod Podge matte medium.
The glue stick is a good idea for holding screws, but I have a screw-sticker with 5 extendable tines that does the job a lot better. It’s a very handy tool.
I use Elmers white glue. It does the job.
