Elmer's Glue Warning..

I just got turned on to this, and I dont know if it has been mentioned here, but I thought I would pass it on. Forgive me if it has come up before, I havent been on the forum much lately, busy with kid going back to school and work

This year Elmer’s Glue came out with a new brand called “Emlers Glue, Washable” it should have a black label. Apperantly, the formula is a different one than the past, which they still make, now called “Glue All”, should have the standard blue and white label. The new mixture Washable*,* has more of an acrylic base and will dry white. It almost sounds like trying to spread on white paint. It dries white in color, or dilutted in a white residue, which would just about ruin your scenery. Be a real bummer for gound covering work.

If anyone else know abot this, post up your info to help some one out. In all honesty, I just boough 5 bottles yesterday and had planned on useing them this morning. (They were on sale) I am feeling really lucky I checked my email first.

Thanks for the warning!!!

canazar, I have been using this washable for some time with no bad results except that it is thinner and will run. I have been using it in my glue mixture (1/3 glue, 1/3 water. and 1/3 70% alchol) I sprayed quite a bit of scenery this past wekend with the stuff and even where it ran down the mountain it doesen’t look bad. I will watch this post carefully to see where it goes and if anyone elece has had any bad experences. Thanks for the warning. Mike

Thanks for the warning, but I usually buy scenic spray instead of diluting white glue. I’m sure it will help others though.
