On locophotos, someone has posted a very recent picture of one of the SD60MACs, EMDX 9501. SD60MACs were test beds for AC technology that was used in the SD70MACs. For many years, all four of these engines have been toiling away at the transportation technology center near Pueblo, CO. Pictures of these engine were very hard to come by, until now. EMDX 9501 was spotted at Avondale. The paint scheme has held up very well considering this engine is nearly 16 years old

I didn’t even realize these units were still around until recently, I think somebody has a photo of them on RailPictures. I always thought this was a very neat paint scheme.

I heard on another forum that this unit may be heading to Tacoma, WA, which will likely be through BNSF’s route.
