Maple vs. Rosewood. I like rosewood, with jumbo frets on my Strat.
Oh, EMD of course. I continue to be a lifelong EMD fan, but GE makes a good locomotive too, and the railroads would be kinda boring with only one locomotive manufacturer.
Every switching crew I’ve ever talked to would run an EMD before a GE, due to their ride and their load times.
My favorite locomotive is a GP60 but the SD70ACe is catching up. I always also did like the GE Dash-8 “Pepsi Cans” that Amtrak had/has. But only in their original paint - there was just something about them that screamed “Awesome”.

EMD did give us the SDXX series, which aren’t bad. However I do like the -9’s! I’ll go 60% GE, 40% EMD

I vote EMD. I like the sound of the engines better. Although the AC44’s looked real goond ing the CNW ligntning stripe and SP speed lettering.
I’ve always been a huge EMD fan, but GE does build pretty good locomotives. I’d go 70% EMD, 30% GE. I don’t hate GE by any means, but bad-mouth EMD and I get nasty![}:)][;)]
When I was growing up GEs were extreamly rare on the SP lines near where I lived (Coast,Bay Area,Modoc). So I would have to say EMDs because that’s what I grew up with.
