EMD

hello all just wondering if there is a website you can go to that will allow you to view the emd locomotive catalog . RON

In the market for a locomotive?

They only offer the SD70ACe/SD70M-2.

www.emdiesels.com

thanks . i thought they had a larger line than that . RON

They offer a few export models too. In fact the line of export models is larger than the domestic line.

According to GEs website they still offer the -9, AC4400, and the GEVO (ES44) in both AC and DC.

According to the website, they also offer the GP20D

The GP20D is an EMD locomotive in name only. They are built by MPI and are marketed by EMD.

Catalogs? Back when… it was Lionel, Flyer, Marx, Sears (remember the backyard railroads with handcars?), Athearn, Varney, Mantua-Tyco, Penn Line, John English, Marklin, Fleischmann, Herkimer-OK, Globe, Central Valley, Dyna-Models, Selby, Atlas, Walthers, IMC, Rivarossi-Lionel, PSM, Lindsay, Bachman, Plasticville, Campbell, Ambroid, Labelle, West(side?), PFM, Max Gray, Kemtron, Cal-Scale, AHM, NWSL, K&S, Plastruct, Lambert, FSM, Vane Jones, Aristo-Craft, Bowser, Floquil, Hydrocal, Jordan, Train Miniatures, Hobbytown, Scintilla, Model Power, Edestaal, Unimat, Kadee… Sorry, just exercising my memory!

The best 1:1 scale catalogs probably were in the transition periods between generations 1-2-3-etc. for diesels and of course Baldwin for steam. There were so many purpose-built steamers by all the builders, but Baldwin (and Porter!) showed at international expositions, could ask the customer “what’s the gauge?”, and point to an item in their catalog.
