End of Autumn '09 progress pics.

Hello folks! Just thought I would share what’s been going on on my “what if” the NYC ran in B&M country! It’s been a while since I last posted pics of my progress over the end of summer and fall months. Working on the layout has been continuous on days off work except for times spent on family, surf fishing and enjoying the 2 week Pennsylvania holiday known as “deer season”. I’ve managed to get most of the plaster terrain in place and painted and several areas covered with real dirt and small bits of fine ground foam grass. The daunting task of trees will be underway once I begin and finish the backdrop detailing. Currently it’s just sky and clouds, but my artistic painting skills will soon be put to the test. Also still many many structures are waiting to be built and roads need sanded and painted as well as building lights and outdoor lights need installed and wired. So…I certainly have a ton of things to do to keep me occupied over the winter months. For those of you who have followed along since I got underway 2 years ago, here ya go! For those of you viewing for the 1st time, comments and useful constructive criticism is certainly welcomed!

It looks like you’re going to have a nice layout once completed. How large is it? I enjoy seeing work in progress.

Best of luck,

Chris

I like the lighthouse feature. Can’t wait to see it finished.

Thanks Chris…It’s an “L” 2 level 18’ x 32’ long with a 6’ x 4’ peninsula. Bottom level is all hidden mainline trackage.

Thank you as well sir. I’m going to be adding hydrocal cliff/rock molds down to the water’s edge. Possibly a little fishing pier and tackle shop to the scene as well. Along the backdrop will probably run some kind of jetty. Not sure how I’m going to construct that yet.

Matt, your layout is definitely coming along great. love the trackwork at the engine terminal!

Nice work! The layout looks really good!

It’s not a “what if”…it’s called the Boston & Albany! [;)]

Thank you Sawyer and Tyler! now here’s another “what if…” The B&A incorporates a minuteman paint scheme with lightning stripes…never mind! LOL…now where did my Boston Lager get to…[:D]
