so i’ll be the one to say it… i like that one way more than the current BNSF paint. maybe it’s just the photo quality (or lack thereof) but the more red color of the stripe looks better w/the green. a little christmas-ey but a nice paint job.
9297 was the first “post merger” unit I saw. I was watching at Eola one day and saw a train coming westbound with a very strange looking unit in the lead…it was 9297…as wow was I ever excited. I have only seen her once or twice since then (which I believe was about ten years ago). I hope they never re-paint her but that may be way too much to hope for.
I saw 9297 with 7756 on an Auto train in the fall this year. She looked good next to an H3.
I would think BNSF would want to repaint this unit since it was only a test paint scheme. Each side of the engine has different stripes(sp they didn’t have to repaint 2 engines for testing).
i hope so that is one ugly loco, well anything in the orange scheme is ugly!!! What BNSF really stands for is Been nothin since Fe as in santa fe man, the one and only true railraod, the BNSF Sucks
That’s too bad for you, while most people love the BNSF your sitting around hating them,…do you not realize that BNSF is Santa Fe, what do you think happened to the ATSF employees?
Personally, I hope that BNSF paints over anything ATSF. They’ve done a good job on the railcars, now it’s time for the locomotives, come to think of it just about every Santa Fe engine has been patched while there’s still quite a few BN’s without patches.
BNSFrailfan, you don’t need to get so protective of BNSF. I mean I like BNSF alot but I don’t blow up in someones face for just say BNSF sucks. If you have something to say say it calmly.
You know he has an e-mail too, so at least we don’t get to read this crap.
wouldn’t that be kinda dull EVERY BNSF IN H3 who knows H4 might be around the corner. Do you have any web sites saying this is true until I see it I will belive it.
