End Of Train Dvices

Are there any readily available on the market. I’ve started picking up some of the MTH trailer flats and would like to add an ETD to one. There was a two car set by Lionel the other day on E-Bay, JB Hunt, with an ETD on one of the flats but they ended up selling for almost $100. To much for my budget. [V]
As far as making my own, [], totally inept.

Doug I have a Lionel CSX boxcar with the EOT built right on one end of it. I got it at a train show last spring for 17 dollars. Thanks, John

Thanks John, We have a boxcar on the club layout that I sometimes use when I run an engine and consist of a more modern era. I would like to find something that could be added to one of my trailer flats.

I suspect that John’s boxcar is the same 16622 that I got one from. It was not difficult to transplant it to an MTH Amtrak boxcar. I’m sure you could do the same with a flat car.

Thanks for the input.
Are the circuit boards that control the LED’s small enough to be concealed in the undercarriage of a MTH Premier trailer flat ? [tup]

Dougdagrump,if you have the October 2003 CTT, pages 56-57 has an article on making a “flashing rear light and a command-control coupler”.It has a complete list of items needed and how to install.[:)]
