I was recently offered a 2-6-2 manufactured by:Masterprices djh information on this type of locomotive is non existent. any input all i could find out is that it is an british locomotive.
There are a number of 2-6-2 models offered by DJH including the Ivatt LMS 2P 2-6-2T, BR Standard 2P 2-6-2T, and the BR Standard class 3 2-6-2T. The DJH website is here: http://www.djhmodelloco.co.uk/oo-gauge-list.asp
Andre
DJH themselves are high quality models.
You should note:-
- UK models will be 1/72 NOT 1/87 – i.e. they will be 4mm=1’ NOT 3.5mm = 1’.
- A DJH model will usually come as a kit of parts… they need some experience of putting this kind of model together to garuantee a good result.
- If put together already the quality will depend heavily on how good the modeller was. You pay for quality.
- They will normally come unpainted… same applies to painting as to putting it together.
- There is a chance that a completed DJH loco may not be built to run on 16.5mm gauge track… it could be 18.5mm or 18.83. (Em or S4).
- If complete it is not likely to be DCC… but it might be… what/whose chip?
You need to know a lot more about what you might be buying and really want a photo (of each side). If it is a kit you want a money back garuantee that it is complete.
Other than all that DJH are good.
