VIA passenger service on the E&N is back to normal after a truck took out a bridge at Shawnigan Lake. ENR crews have replaced the bridge and on Wednesday passengers were bussed to the waiting train at Nanaimo, the train went north to Courtenay then south to Victoria. Apparently both 6135 and 6148 were stranded north of the bridge.

Who owns E&NR ? And how do you get passenger train service in Canada while the rest of the nation doesn’t, is this a hobby line or something? and the big question: does anyone actually use it and what are the prices? I want train service too ! !
Is that why I didnt see anything at all while I was in Victoria? I was there from last sunday to last wednesday. Stayed in Esquiamlt with some family I have there. Had a great time and enjoyed seeing the sights of the area, although I didnt see anything on the rails 
People sure do use it. Some ride it one way, and take the bus in the other direction, as there is only one round-trip a day (northbound in the morning; southbound in the afternoon).
Round-trip for the entire route was about $CDN 94 when I rode last July. Some days were SOLD OUT, because only one RDC was operating for a few weeks; the second RDC had been damaged in a grade crossing collision with a truck.
The fare is was worth every penny!
