Envirotex???

heyy guys i was wondering how too use envirotex and where do i get it? is it better than realistic water?

Thanx Keith!!!

Instructions are on the can, most hardware stores stock it, and yes, IMHO it’s the BEST! Fred

Envirotex is a 2 part (50/50) resin found at craft stores like Michael’s. Some hardware stores may also carry it. To use, prepare the area scenic embankments and bottom if desired. Make sure that the area will hold the liquid- needs to be well sealed and sometimes temparary dams are required. Mix the amount you think will do the area. Dyes and coloring can be added for additional depth or a murky look. Once it is mixed you need to use it all. I will also have other spots ready in case of leftover mix. Pour the resin, it will seek out its own level to a perfectly flat glasslike finish. Pour it in the middle of the areas to be done. You will probably see many bubbles in the pour, Breathing or using a blow drier will disipate them. Forget about trying to add any texture or waves, it will only return to flat again. Any texture can be added with glossmedium, clear silicone or translucent caulk. Some creep will occur, you will see a glossy ring -a high water mark around the edges or creeping up embankments. This is fixed by rescenicing or dabbing on dullcoat.
Hope this helps,
Bob K.

Here’s my reply on a previous thread answering questions about envirotex, where you get it , and how to use it:

Joe,
I love that picture more every time I see it.

I have had excellent results with Klock-Kote. It is available at hobby shops and probably
craft stores. I have not used Envirotex, so I can’t make a direct camparison. I can only
comment on how good the Klock-Kote turned out. This stuff is also a two part mixture
that sets up in a few hours and is cured in 24 hours. Here’s a couple of pictures of my
results. Good luck. Dave
