EOT device

I think at one time I saw a member that built one or in the MR, anyone point me in the right direction, I did a serch and nothing came up, thanks Jim.

Is this what you’re looking for?

If your into kit bashing, A EOT can be made from a 555 timer IC chip from the shack. They even have a boklet on projects you can build with the chip. I have one in my tool box. The battery is six years old and still going.

Yes thats what I was looking for need to build about 4 of them. Thanks,Jim.

Look for a SMD 555 and all SMD components if space is important.

I have the one from Ring Engineering.

Try one first before buying 4. Mine tends to grab switch points and frogs sometimes. On the bottom of the truck there is a small square containing the electronics. A piece of styrene covers it. Sometimes it sags some and will derail the train or even totally catch something. Pushing it up fixes it for a while. I haven’t messed with it much to find a fix. I may have just picked up a dud.

Here is a circuit if you would like to build your own.

Good Link to have

Are there any vendors that offer track pick-up trucks?

I bought a handful of the discontinued LM3909 flasher IC chips last year from Futurlec, who happened to still have stock on hand. These IC’s only require an electrolytic capacitor and an LED to create a flashing LED that will run off a 1.5 volt battery. Wired differently the circuit can be powered with a 3 volt source. See the data sheet for circuits.

Here is a link to a FRED simulator.
