EPA Emission Regulations on Locomotives in the 21st Century- Report

For a research paper in school, I chose: EPA Emission Regulations on Locomotives in the 21st Century. The problem is that there are not many magazines, books, etc on this topic I could find. If someone could point me in the right direction that would be great.

P.S. Sorry if this post is in the wrong forum. This is my first post.

EPA locomotive regulations here

Tier 4 Presentation

That should get you started

Also was a story about Tier 3 and 4 compliance in the September 2008 issue of Railway Age magazine.

Have you tried Googling for the EPA website? I’m sure there is one, and that the pertinent emission regulations are posted there, probably in both full text and synopsis formats.

Be prepared to wade through a sludge of legalese - you are dealing with a Federal bureau.

Try the ASME and SAE websites for list of papers on the subject. Dieselnet. ? deals with emmisions and then there is Southwest research (SWRI.org) who does a lot of locomotive testing and publishes there papers at ASME.
